Material studies of wood, concrete, and steel revealed the opportunity to create a lighted shadowbox using a torsion technique. Heated and steamed, each piece was formed and shaped to specific rotation amount before being secured to the frame. The base is cast cement formed and secured with a steel framework. Brass details secure the wood to the steel.
